REALITY

“I want things to go back the way they were”

My colleague Zoe

I must have fallen asleep at 9:30 p.m. yesterday evening. I was watching a new TV series on netflix, which seems the only thing to do nowadays in the evening aside from video-calls…

The series was actually quite interesting, I could write a review later on… But I guess I was just so tired of my day at the hospital. These days have been hectic and I’m not even in a ward dedicated to Coronavirus patients.

Electricity is in the air, you can simply feel it on your skin as you walk through the ward. People are scared and their need of reassurance does not seem to be filled in by the responses of the institutions. What a shame! I would have never guessed Switzerland to be like this…

I wake up every morning and I hear the news. Each country in Europe is taking decisions separately at first but then they end up taking the same decision that a more affected country took the previous week.

Trump already wants to stop quarantine… I will not comment this as I won’t spend my energy on it.

Where is solidarity? Europe could have shown solidarity by a simple act: taking the decision to start a quarantine together with Italy and this could have been over now. A decision that would have had an impact on economy, but well… look at what’s happening now. Certainly a decision that would have prevented COVID-19 to spread.

China, Cuba, Russia sent doctors, masks and ventilators to Italy. The images I saw this week-end fulfilled my heart. Solidarity exists and comes from unsuspected places!

This morning I woke up at 1:30 a.m. maybe because of stress, maybe because 4 hours were already enough. Needless to say I had troubles falling asleep again and went back to my TV series.

I finally fell into an oniric state where I was dreaming of myself sleeping. I was not in the dark. Light was shining on me. I was lying on the grass. Surrounded by flowers. The smell of spring was carried by a cool breeze making my skin shiver pleasantly. A honey bee came buzzing to my ear…

I’m up again looking for a honey bee that was just a dream…
